Join us in Hamburg for two days of exchanging perspectives, learning and excellent networking opportunities with your peers. You will benefit from numerous interactive sessions, presentations, including case studies, and insightful panel discussions to get the best out of the event.

COVID-19

ACI is doing everything to ensure that all its events go ahead as advertised.  Like you, we are keen to get the meetings to happen and return to some form of normality.  We are constantly tracking WHO updates, local government regulations and talking to our attendees wherever possible.  Venues are chosen and procedures are adjusted in order to make the conferences possible.

But we do accept that these are exceptionally challenging times and the updates are very fast moving.  As such, it may help you to understand how and why we arrive at decisions on moving ahead with any current event:  One month before the meeting we again re-assess the situation specific to the individual summit, both local to the event and globally.  We then take a decision as to the viability of holding the meeting as if it were happening the very next day.  If it is possible to run on that basis, we will proceed.  If not, we will be forced to take the decision to postpone the event to a later and better date.

During the Tuesday afternoon prior to the conference, on the 2nd of November, a limited number of conference delegates will receive the unique opportunity to visit the Audi e-gas plant in Werlte, Germany.

This plant produces synthetic methane from water and CO2. The amount of CO2 emitted by the car is precisely the amount bound during the production of the fuel. Audi uses biomethane from residual materials such as straw and green waste, in addition to the quantities of synthetic methane, to ensure Audi e-gas can be supplied comprehensively.

There is no extra charge to join a site visit, although places are limited and allocated to conference delegates on a first come first served basis. Therefore we should strongly suggest to book your place early to avoid disappointment.

Norsk e-Fuel is a project consortium, developing Power-to-Liquid projects on industrial scale in Norway.

The company’s vision is to achieve climate neutral transportation by converting CO2 and water using 100 % Norwegian renewable electricity in order to substitute fossil crude oil through renewable fuel.

Registered in Oslo, Norway, the consortium combines the technological force and industrial strength of four partners. Powered by Sunfire’s and Climeworks’ proprietary technology based on worldwide patents the company strive to make transportation renewable: Norsk e-Fuel brings together Sunfire’s most efficient and economic electroylsers and Climeworks’ state-of-the-art Direct Air Capture technology. Paul Wurth (SMS group), one of the world leading EPC partners will provide the necessary know-how to make industrialisation possible. Combined with their corporate strength and with Valinor’s local competence and expertise for the Norwegian energy market Norsk e-Fuel will make the goal of climate neutral transportation a reality.

Norsk e-Fuel’s first plant will go into operation in 2023 in Herøya, Porsgrunn, Norway. Ready to deliver 10 million litres of renewable fuel annually, the plant will contribute to decarbonise hard-to-electrify sectors like the aviation industry. Until 2026, a further upscaling is planned. With a production capacity of 100 million liters annually, the plant layout of the then full sized plant will serve as blueprint for a following nationwide roll-out leading the way to make renewable transportation possible.

Hamburg Aviation is the aviation industry cluster for the Hamburg Metropolitan Region – one of the world’s most important locations in the civil aviation industry.

In total, more than 40,000 highly qualified specialists here are working on the future of aviation.
Their core competencies cover the complete life cycle of an aircraft, from the design, manufacture and fitting out, to the global system of air transportation, maintenance, repair and overhaul, and finally to recycling. Put together, this makes Hamburg the third-biggest site in the civil aviation industry worldwide.
The two giants of the industry, Airbus and Lufthansa Technik, are joined by Hamburg Airport and more than 300 small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as a variety of scientific and technological institutions. Every one of them contributes know-how and expertise.
Companies, universities, associations, the economic authority and other partners have come together to form Hamburg Aviation, a cluster dedicated to advancing the city as an aviation location.
Together they pursue a common goal: to network research and development, thereby bringing to market high-quality products and services for the aviation of the future – products that are good for passengers and set the standards in terms of resource protection.
Hamburg Aviation concentrates on five product areas: the development and construction of aircraft and aircraft systems, the development and construction of cabins and cabin systems, the optimisation of aviation services, improving the efficiency of the air transportation system, and aviation-related information and communications technology.
In 2008, Hamburg’s aviation cluster was honoured by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research as a Leading-Edge Cluster. In 2014, Hamburg Aviation joined the elite ranks of clusters to hold the European Commission’s GOLD Label for Europe’s best managed clusters. The “Land of Ideas” initiative declared Hamburg Aviation one of Germany’s “100 Landmarks” in 2016.
Success stories of the Hamburg Aviation cluster include the world’s most coveted prize in aircraft interiors, the Crystal Cabin Award, the long-term management of the European Aerospace Cluster Partnership (EACP) and the Urban Air Mobility network Windrove.
