Admiralty and casualty

In the three years since the firm we opened in the City of London in 2012 we have been instructed on casualties and other shipping cases from Australia to Venezuela.

Groundings, collisions, pollution, salvage, wreck removal, fire, General Average, stability issues and structural failures are our routine – we are professionals in wet work, related dry legal work, marine insurance and emergency response cases.

We believe experience counts. We have a highly experienced team, and supported by a good network of like minded foreign lawyers and experts we have the confidence to deal with any matter, wherever the jurisdiction.

We handle complex multi-jurisdictional disputes and casualties. We enjoy what we do and our aim is to provide sound, innovative and commercial advice to our clients.

We practice shipping law and nothing else. But we also understand the industry we serve: navigation, ship handling and operations, security at sea and technical issues are routine for us.

Our strength lies in that experience, our accessibility and our ability to deliver sound practical advice of a quality that you would expect from City lawyers but at fee rates that are competitive and realistic.

The firm’s legal team continues to grow and includes two ex-Master Mariners, a senior QC, a former Royal Marine and a former naval architect. Together we have the knowledge to deal with the most challenging cases.

Amongst us are people who have been instrumental in helping to develop key industry contracts such as GUARDCON, LOF & SCOPIC, TOWCON & TOWHIRE and wreck removal contracts.

Our expertise, dependability and commitment to providing value for money are at the heart of everything we do.

Every CQR membership should be productive with members seeing significant inward business and this is monitored through a quarterly survey.
