UniSieve’s mission is to decarbonize heavy-emitting industries via membrane solutions. Today, 10% of the world’s energy consumption is due to separation and purification, which mostly depends on thermal processes. By avoiding heat or cold, the UniSieve solution saves up to 90% of process energy compared to alternative technology. This enables energy and chemical companies to recover valuable chemicals or energy carriers that, in the worst case, must be burnt. Also, efficient separation enables affordable CO2 capture from flue gas. The UniSieve solution can be used as an add-on unit to debottleneck or optimize existing assets or can be integrated into grassroots processes. Flexible testing units are available to demonstrate the value generation for specific assets.

The majority of LLDPE and HDPE is produced by using heterogeneous catalysts, where silica and MgCl2 are used as the most common catalyst supports. Metallocene catalysts are typically impregnated on silica when used in commercial gas phase and slurry processes. Although catalyst supports have high surface area and good morphology, they give some limitations to catalyst behavior in polymerization.

Norner has developed a novel PE production technology which enable metallocene catalysts to reach high yields, increased molecular weight, improved polymer homogeneity and purity in multimodal slurry polymerization technologies. By utilizing homogeneous catalysts in slurry processes, Advance® M has good potential to be cost competitive with reduced catalyst cost and environmental footprint vs. traditional PE technologies. The polymer powder morphology can be adjusted to meet the requirements given by the various slurry polymerization technologies.

The Norner Advance® M technology is protected by patents.
