European Environmental Ports Conference 2022

Date: 3rd May 2022 - 4th May 2022 Location: Rotterdam - The Netherlands

Back for its 4th edition, European Environmental Ports Conference 2022 will be taking place on the 3rd & 4th May in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. The event will bring together senior representatives from the global port community and shipping companies, as well as environmental policy-makers, academic experts, consultants, and technology providers, to tackle the most pressing topics of the maritime industry.

European Environmental Ports Conference 2022 will provide informative presentations on the very latest challenges, solutions and developments in reducing emissions, pollution and energy consumption, as well as discussing the possibilities of industrial collaboration and a more sustainable future

Given the increasing focus on environmental regulations from the IMO and policy makers in the maritime sector, there is a growing responsibility and requirement of ports to reduce their environmental impact; now is a crucial time to share best practices and explore new technologies and methodologies in order to advance daily operations of a port with minimal ecological consequences.

BLOK Container Systems is a British company manufacturing in UK and China whose mission is to improve the productivity of container terminals.

The company enables terminals to improve crane productivity through multiple container handling, mechanised twistlocking and faster distribution of containers. It does this through the use of one or more of its standalone products.

BLOK Spreaders facilitate lifting two empty containers side by side, Horizontal Tandem Lifting (HTL) or four containers in two columns of Vertical Tandem Lift (VTL).

BLOK Cert is a patent applied for system for certifying that a pair of empty containers together with their four SAT twistlocks can be safely lifted in Vertical Tandem Lift (VTL) by STS cranes.

BLOK Rigs are semi-automatic twistlocking machines for safer and quicker fitting and removal of SATs and FATs from laden and empty containers.

BLOK Trailers are double width Trailers which allow a single tug tractor to transport 4 teu of laden containers or 8 teu of empties for faster transfer of containers around the quayside.

Faster turnaround of vessels in port has many advantages including fuel saving and emissions reduction on the quayside and at sea through the efficient maintenance of vessel schedules.

EcoSoftec is a French independent company. It is dedicated to invent, design and produce exclusive technologies to upgrade the overall performances of large thermal systems, such as boilers, for instance those operated with liquid dirty fuels. The major benefit they afford is an improved combustion, with decisive impacts on the environmental, energetic and maintenance aspects, by means of catalysis effects.

In order to minimize the pollution and the consequent serious sanitary stakes due to the dangerous particles released in the exhaust gases of the vessels, particularly the ultra-fines ones, EcoSoftec develops “OCEAMm”. Alone, it makes a net contribution to abate these pollutants ; as a complement to any end of pipe treatment, such as scrubbers, it pushes upward their utility.

This entirely new solution is presented for the first time on the occasion of the European Environmental Ports Conference.

At the event we strive not only to bring you to the same location at the same time as your customers/suppliers/peers, we strive to ensure you meet face-to-face with each and every one of your target contacts and to provide you with the time you need to have multiple unhurried conversations with them and build a lasting business relationship:

• A pre-event informal introduction the evening before the conference
• A minimum of five hours’ networking built into the two day conference agenda
• A networking grid which enables you to make your target contacts aware you are looking for them
• The option to join either social drinks or dinner during the evening of Day One
• ACI’s on-site team will assist you in locating your hard-to-find target contacts & make face-to-face introductions

Of course, if there is anybody you are unable to meet over the two days, ACI’s event team will do their best to initiate contact after the event.

ACI is doing everything to ensure that all its events go ahead as advertised, returning to the much-missed and valuable face-to-face interaction as soon as possible.  In order to ensure the events are delivered as safely as possible, venues are chosen and procedures are adjusted in line with the relevant local and regulations and guidelines.

These have been exceptionally challenging times with very fast-moving updates. As we get closer to an event we look at each one individually, paying careful heed to local regulations, but without ignoring the international situation. Whatever happens, ACI will safeguard the investments that attendees have made by either automatically moving it to the new dates of the event or a full credit will be provided for use when booking a future ACI event.
