Technical, Strategic and Business Development Executives from E-fuel Producers, Oil Refiners, Process Technology Providers, Electrolyser Producers, Catalyst Suppliers, Policy & Regulators, Automotive & Aviation Industries, Consultants, Investors and Chemical Companies.

As one of the world’s most innovative companies, Sunfire today develops and manufactures systems for renewable industrial gas and fuel production. These substitutes for mineral oil and natural gas, known as e-Gas, e-Fuel or e-Chemicals, replace fossil fuels in existing infrastructures. The solid oxide cells (SOCs) used for the conversion process are also used as generators to provide electricity and heat.

Sunfire’s vision is to make regenerative energy from sources such as wind farms, hydropower plants and photovoltaic systems available wherever and whenever it is needed — not just when the wind is blowing, the waves are crashing or the sun is shining.

The key component is the steam electrolyser, based on solid oxide cell technology and able to break water into its constituent parts not only from its liquid but also from its gaseous form (i.e. steam). The main benefit of steam electrolysis is that the enthalpy of vaporisation can be achieved without the use of expensive electrical energy. Indeed, recycling waste heat such as that generated by industrial processes makes it possible to increase the efficiency of the steam electrolyser to over 80 percent.

Sunfire is supported by strong partners such as Audi, Boeing or ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems. It is the company’s goal to refine the solid oxide electrolyser and fuel cell systems and to advance their industrialisation. Only then can Sunfire’s technologies be established as the cornerstones of a decentralised energy system of the future.

FuelsEurope represents with the EU institutions the interest of 41 Companies operating refineries in the EU. Members account for almost 100% of EU petroleum refining capacity and more than 75% of EU motor fuel retail sales.

FuelsEurope aims to promote economically and environmentally sustainable refining, supply and use of petroleum products in the EU, by providing input and expert advice to the EU Institutions, Member State Governments and the wider community, thus contributing in a constructive and pro-active way to the development and implementation of EU policies and regulations.

Concawe was established in 1963 by a small group of leading oil companies to carry out research on environmental issues relevant to the oil industry. Its membership has broadened to include most oil companies operating in Europe.
The scope of Concawe’s activities has gradually expanded in line with the development of societal concerns over environmental, health and safety issues. These now cover areas such as fuels quality and emissions, air quality, water quality, soil contamination, waste, occupational health and safety, petroleum product stewardship and cross-country pipeline performance.

UPEI represents nearly 2,000 European importers and wholesale/retail distributors of energy for the transport and heating sectors, supplying Europe’s customers, independently of the major petroleum producers.

Independent suppliers, covering more than a third of Europe’s demand, play a crucial role in an evolving market by bringing competition which is vital to the economy. Their independence enables them to respond rapidly to changes in terms of market structure, products and services, contributing to security of supply on a local, regional and national level while embracing new, cost effective solutions which further promote energy efficiency and reduce pollutants and emissions.
