    • Biomass resources are more abundant and usable than some would like us to believe, especially in Europe, but they are not unlimited
    • Demand increases, as we aim for 2050 Net Zero Emission, for the 4Fs (Food, Feed, Fuel and Fiber), as before the Industrial Revolution: Bioeconomy grows, IEA foresees bioenergy supplying 20 % of primary energy and 1/3 of bioenergy to be used to produce heat & power in its 2050 Net Zero Emission scenario
    • Biomass is as diverse as EU Member States, calling for local solutions.
    • Climate regulations, not market, should guide the merit order for biomass
usage, putting sustainability first and respecting companion regulations, like water management, biodiversity and nature conservation

      • Hierarchy of usage should put food and feed first
      • And be local, respecting both industrial & social context and biomass availability,
      • Energy for all must be sustainable, affordable and secure,
      • Sectors with few or no renewable alternatives to fossil should be prioritized.
