The United Soybean Board (USB) is a farmer-funded organization that helps fund research to develop and commercialize industrial applications using chemical derivatives from U.S.-grown soybeans. Renewable by nature, U.S. soy can be used as a raw material in a diverse group of surfactants. Funded by USB, Battelle Memorial Institute has developed a platform technology to produce a unique class of surfactants for use in laundry and cleaning applications using high oleic soybean oil to improve performance, such as the removal of coffee and make-up stains.  Today, more manufacturers are turning to renewable resources for raw materials, and soy offers a number of advantages including performance, versatility, cost and sustainability. USB-funded successes include soy-based paints and coatings, polyurethane foam, composites, adhesives, and rubber being used by such market leaders as Sherwin-Williams, Rust-Oleum, Ford Motor Company, Lear Corporation, John Deere, Columbia Forest Products and Goodyear. In addition to surfactants, USB is currently funding research to develop new products for asphalt, lubricants, and oil and gas exploration. The USB represents more than 600,000 U.S. soybean farmers. Oleoline is a market research organisation started in the year 2000 by the HBI group. HBI has been publishing market reports on Glycerine since 1986.  Over the years  Oleoline has developed a portfolio of products in glycerine, oleochemicals and biodiesel .

Unlike other market report firms, Oleoline is unique in that it provides an independent and accurate portfolio of reports from the

market. Each report is written by an experienced broker who has been handling a significant volume of the product for many years. making Oleoline’s reports  significantly more reactive to market changes and equally importantly, not vulnerable to market player manipulation.

Oleoline also provides comprehensive archives of historical price data for the   markets we study. If none of our regular reports meet your requirements, you may engage Oleoline on a consulting basis to work on a customized project

Through a joint effort, the 3-year H2020 project ENABLING intends to develop the great potential of the bio-based industry, encouraging the creation of efficient and structured biomass supply chains for the production of bio-based products (BBP). To do so, ENABLING proposes tools and methodologies nurturing collaboration and knowledge transfer among practitioners in the sector, through:

– The Best Practices Atlas, an interactive platform hosting best practices in Europe that are wholly or partly transferable to other regions, or serve as an inspiration for partners in the value chain.

-Coaching Activities, available through an online simple questionnaire, support biomass producers or the BBP industry for the uptake of emerging best practices and help the applicants figure out more details about the bio-economy and its component.

-The Biomass Trade Platform that allows biomass producers and biomass processors to search and offer biomass residues and by-products, bio-based products as well as services in the different sectors of bio-economy.
