Situated on one of the world’s most strategic crossroads, the Eilat Ashkelon Pipeline Company (EAPC) is a crucial link in connecting the European and eastern energy markets. Cargoes from Russia and central Asia can take the shorter, faster, cost-effective route to energy markets in the East by utilizing the company’s bidirectional 42″ pipeline connecting the Ashkelon Oil Port in the Mediterranean with the Eilat Oil Port in the Red Sea without circling Africa or adhere to the size limitations of the Suez Canal. Oil products from the eastern hemisphere can also make their route to Europe and utilise the EAPC’s hub.

With a storage capacity of 3.7 million cubic meters, EAPC serves the needs of the Israeli market, together with international commercial and logistical requirements. Two additional pipelines from Ashkelon Oil Port, feed Israel’s two oil refineries: Haifa in northern Israel and Ashdod in central Israel. The company operates two oil ports and two oil terminals for crude oil and oil products.

In addition to pipeline transit and storage of crude oil and oil products, EAPC provides infrastructure services for LPG and coal. EAPC also operates a receiving terminal for natural gas from Israeli and foreign sources.

Supporting Associations

The Tank Storage Association (TSA) is an industry organisation providing lobbying and advocacy on behalf of its members. Members provide bulk liquid storage through a network of over 250 terminals of a varied range of products including transport fuels, crude oil, chemicals, potable liquids, edible oils and fats.

Movement into and out of terminals is either by sea-going vessel, inland barge, road tanker, rail tanker or pipeline – providing a critical component in the supply chain for many diverse industries.

The TSA’s role is to champion the needs of its membership with industry, government and relevant agencies. This is achieved by playing a leading role in many different working groups and committees. The TSA regularly work with other industry sectors and regulators to identify potential areas for improvement or where knowledge and good practice can be extended, as well as with European colleagues through the Federation of European Trade Associations (FETSA).

Today, Fecc membership includes 39 companies, 15 national associations and 8 associated members, representing around 30,000 employees and annual sales of approximately 28 billion euros.

Fecc and its members add value to the supply chain through sourcing, developing, marketing and distributing a diverse range of specialty chemicals and ingredients to more than one million downstream users. These include automotive, electronics, paint and coatings, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, construction, food and nutrition industries, each of which has its own unique requirements.

To safeguard the chemical distributors’ competitiveness in the European market, Fecc promotes initiatives such as Responsible Care, as well as good trade and distribution practices. Fecc also provides extensive information on current and proposed legislation to its members, and acts on behalf of members in the discussions with the European institutions and other stakeholders.
