EU emissions targets and public demand mean that countries need to look to every possible method of reducing their impact on the environment. Gasification is well placed as a technology to fill niches in emissions reduction plans and contribute to the fight against climate change. Opportunities in waste-gasification, smaller scale gasification and biomass are providing new growth-areas of the industry for potential investors. For these reasons, gasification is in a very exciting place right now. At Gasification 2023 the above topics will be discussed, alongside how current issues in the industry can be overcome- increasing government and EU support, improving public understanding, and new technology in the industry.
ACI’s 10th Annual Gasification Summit, taking place in Munich, Germany on Wednesday the 22nd & Thursday the 23rd March 2023, will comprise two days of formal presentations, interactive roundtable discussions and excellent networking opportunities, providing an ideal setting to convene with your peers to discuss both current operational & future planned gasification plants, end product markets, potential barriers & support policies as well as project economics & finance.
Key Topics Include

DBG Bio Energy is an Amsterdam-based biotechnology scale up, founded in response to the urgency of tackling challenges of the paper industry and speeding up the energy transition. Pressing climate change issues and mounting international pressure on the paper industry regarding their waste processing, push us to find new solutions. This, mainly because most of their waste is currently being incinerated or landfilled. Both of which are not very environmentally friendly methods for a wet, organic residual waste.
DBG Bio Energy established an innovative approach to deal with this specific industrial waste stream. By mimicking the regenerative cycle of nature in which waste is reused, we developed a patented enzyme technology to upcycle paper sludge into BioLNG, green fertlisers and Biogenic CO2.
BioLNG is a low carbon fuel that powers heavy transport and ships, hence accelerating the energy transition and energy self-sufficiency. Green fertilisers are a better alternative to synthetic fertilisers, because of their superior quality and regenerative properties. We liquify the leftover CO2 to avoid emissions and since it is biogenic and food grade, it can be used for making e-fuels, as well as other applications in food and other industries.
This way, we not only work towards Zero Waste, but make other industries more sustainable as well.
