Nicole Doerr of AC2T Wins Women in Focus 2024 Lifetime Contribution Award

ACI is delighted to announce Dr. Nicole Doerr, Chief Scientist at AC2T research GmbH (AC2T), as the winner of the Women in Focus 2024 Lifetime Contribution Award.

Whilst still a doctoral candidate in the Research Institute for Chemistry & Technology of Petroleum Products at the Vienna University of Technology, Dr. Doerr joined the project team for founding the Austrian Competence Centre for Tribology. This centre was founded in 2002 under the name AC2T where Dr. Doerr has been employed since 2003 . Over the past 20 years Dr. Doerr has greatly influenced the direction, quality and reputation of the research carried out at AC2T as well as those who have worked and been trained there.

Prof. Friedrich Franek, former General Manager at AC2T, remarked on Dr. Doerr’s career that it “represents the outstanding development of a personality in Austrian science and with international format. It is particularly remarkable that Dr. Doerr has established herself in a field of science that is still male-dominated in our part of the world.”
