Whistling Straits Golf Club, the Pete Dye designed links course stands ready to welcome the world with its deep pot bunkers, rolling green and grassy dunes swept by the winds of Lake Michigan. The Ryder Cup Matches, first played in 1927 between the best professionals from the U.S., Great Britain, & Ireland, expanded to include all of Europe in 1979 and has since become the biggest golf event in the world.
