Unranked Foes Upset Ranked Teams in Week 9!
The 2018 college football season is coming into the final stretch and Week #9 offered some interesting outcomes, and surprises too!! Check our brief below (so far!)
The Top
Top team Alabama had a bye week, so they should be rested and ready for the night game in Death Valley this Saturday! Of note: This undefeated team has scored a touchdown on their first possession in every game this season.
Clemson walked over a misfiring FSU team like they weren’t even there hanging 59 on them and giving up just 10 points.
Notre Dame doubled, literally, the points Navy put up with a 44-22 beating.
LSU enjoyed a week of rest as they prepare for the showdown at home this week against #1 Alabama.
Week 9 Surprises
Ranked teams got rankled by unranked foes this week!
Previously #6 Texas took a loss to unranked but always dangerous Okie State.
Washington who was at #15, continued its skid as Cal beat them with a more SEC like final score of 12 – 10.
Miss. St. Bulldogs rolled over then #16 Texas A&M.
The Arizona Wildcats handed then #19 Oregon their worst loss of the season, finishing with 44 points to the Ducks 15.
Northwestern upset previously ranked #20 Wisconsin who is now out of the Big Ten Championship talk.
Houston smacked South Florida (previously #21) finishing 57 – 36.
Syracuse continued their case for respect by beating then #22 NC State by 10 points as well.
What to Watch This Week:
College Football Playoff Rankings – October 30 – Week 10 and beyond gives us the official rankings that will determine who has a shot at winning the College Football Playoff Championship, and you can bet we’ll be keeping a close eye!
#5 Michigan hosts #14 Penn State at the Big House
#6 UGA goes into #12 Kentucky (yes, this is football season!)
But all eyes will be on #1 Alabama vs. #4 LSU as the Tigers host the Tide in a clash built for prime time.
This season has been filled with chaos, which will lead to some great Conference Championship Games, what should be a tremendous selection of Semi-Finalists, and ultimately, the final two teams which will bring all eyes on Santa Clara come January 7th, 2019!
