Giving Tuesday & Habitat for Humanity ReStore

It’s #GivingTuesday, and we’re highlighting our Chicago office! Lack of affordable housing impacts families nationwide, and that’s why ISM Chicago went to support Habitat for Humanity. Not only does the organization help to build houses, they run Habitat for Humanity ReStore centers. These centers have new and used home goods, building materials and more that anyone in the community can purchase, with proceeds directly supporting Habitat for Humanity. Our Chicago office went last week to a local center helping sort donations, stock the store, and more!

The goal of Habitat for Humanity is to help families achieve self-reliance through literally building a better life for themselves. Habitat families participate in financial counseling, help to build their own and other families houses, and are set on a path towards home ownership. This stability helps the whole family and provides a strong foundation for the communities in which they live.

Habitat for Humanity has a variety of projects worldwide. If you’d like to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, there are many things you can do year-round including volunteering at the ReStore centers, just check their website at: https://www.habitat.org/volunteer.
