ISM Remembers: Rollie Massimino

We are deeply saddened by the passing of our dear friend, Coach Rollie Massimino, age 82. Coach Mass was an amazing person and we are thankful we had the pleasure of working with him on numerous occasions over the past 10 years.

He is one of only a very small fraternity of coaches to have amassed over 800 total basketball wins throughout his illustrious career. In his run as a head coach, he began at Stony Brook in 1969 then went on to Villanova, bringing them their famous 1985 National Championship over Georgetown. Rollie also was the head coach at UNLV, Cleveland State, and up until his passing, he was head coach at Northwood University (recently renamed Keiser University.)

The International Sports Management family offers our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Coach Mass. He always had a way of making those around him laugh with his wit and charm, and the twinkle in his eyes. He will truly be missed by all that met him over his many years as a coach, a friend, and a loving family man. Rest in Peace Coach.
