Isobutylene is an important petrochemical building block that can be converted into fuels, chemicals and cosmetic ingredients. Global Bioenergies (Paris NYSE FR0011052257) has developed a fermentation process for the biological production of isobutylene from renewable resources. The company is operating its industrial pilot in Pomacle (France) since 2014 and has begun the construction of its demo plant in Leuna (Germany), scheduled to start operations mid 2016. Together with Cristal Union, the second biggest French sugar producer, Global Bioenergies has founded a Joint Venture to prepare the first full-scale bio-based isobutylene plant.

The Spanish Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SEQC) is a nonprofit organisation which brings together nearly 1000 cosmetic and personal care professionals and scientists. It was founded in 1958 by a group of chemists to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and new developments in cosmetic science, and to cooperate with other cosmetic societies around the world.
The main mission of the SEQC is to advance the science of Cosmetics and Perfumery in Spain by promoting research, education, dissemination and collaboration. It is part of the International Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Chemists (IFSCC), being the 6th society in terms of membership.
SEQC organizes the 2nd edition of COSMETORIUM to be held in Barcelona on 3 and 4 October 2017, a 2-day forum for detailed investigation and discussion on issues relating to formulation, production and delivery of personal care products. It recognises the significance of Spain in the international market and provides answers to many of the key issues in the sector.
