20th Ballast Water Management Conference

Date: 18th April 2018 - 19th April 2018 Location: Vallejo - California - USA
New Year, New Challenges: Post-Ratification Plans for Selection, Implementation & Maintenance of Ballast Water Treatment Systems

Only a small fraction of ships are currently equipped with Ballast Water Management Systems that meet regulatory compliance, and the expenditure necessary to bring the world’s fleets up to code will range far into the tens of billions of dollars. The September 2017 ratification of the IMO’s BWM Convention leaves an underprepared shipping industry  facing a daunting set of regulatory timelines and strict rules that must be adhered to for continued operation in US and international harbours. Achieving timely compliance with IMO and USCG standards will require careful planning and judicious investment.

ACI’s 20th Ballast Water Management Conference will once again bring together vessel owners, managers and operators, as well as key regulators and authorities, Ballast Water Management System manufacturers, testing facilities and classification societies, for two days of informative presentations, engaging discussions and informal networking. Our outstanding line-up of speakers will cover ongoing regulatory challenges, choice of systems, practical considerations when retrofitting, strategies for scheduling and investment,  in-depth case studies, training techniques and more.
