ACI Launch Global Online Community: What is Base Oils & Lubes Connect?

Having launched the European Base Oils & Lubricants Online Series just over a year ago, ACI have now added to their growing portfolio of digital-age initiatives by creating Base Oils & Lubes Connect, an online community promising exclusive access to a number of potentially interesting features.

The ability to video call other community members as easily as you would colleagues on MS Teams or family and friends on Zoom certainly sounds promising. If impromptu calls feel a little invasive, especially with those you have not yet met, you can integrate a free calendar called Calendly which then allows you to arrange calls or meetings in advance. There is also plenty of other content to spark your interest such as the brief interviews with recent speakers from ACI’s online series, perfect for coffee break viewing.

As with ACI’s online series of events, you can access all the above for free. You do, however, need to receive an invite from ACI or a community member. Chris Taylor, Production Director at ACI, told us that “we have long been searching for effective ways to provide valuable and accessible content and networking to the global base oils and lubricants industry. Base Oils & Lubes Connect fits in perfectly with our vision and, importantly, offers face-to-face interaction amongst members. Our goal is to offer an improvement on the networking experience and quality management of LinkedIn groups, reach a wider audience for a more sustained period of time than event networking apps and deliver a searchable directory of individual qualified contacts who can be contacted with just one mouse click.”

If you have not yet received an invite to join Base Oils & Lubes Connect do not worry as Mr. Taylor explains “We sent out the initial invites to all those who have attended our in-person and online events over the past 12 years. Our next step will be to open up to colleagues of all our members before finally sending out invitations to qualified companies. Anybody we do not reach directly is extremely welcome to contact me or any of our community members in order to request an invitation to join.”
