Medecins sans Frontieres – Update

Looking at this is quite a shock.  I can hardly believe that the last entry was at the end of 2019! It really has been a ‘lost year’.  Well, having struggled through the great lockdowns, with little or no chance of end product we are, finally (and hopefully), beginning to see some little glimmers of light.  Anyway, to cut a long story short, one of our number prompted us to start thinking again outside our own little bubble and get back to trying to attack the target we set way back in 2017.

About half our number have formed 5 teams to complete a 1,300 km walk from our office in London, UK to the office in Poznan, Poland.  Well not quite…….

With lockdowns still in place, we might find it a little difficult to cross so many borders (notice the way I have neatly sidestepped the obvious question of the not inconsiderable distance).  Of course, like so much of life right now, we are having to do this virtually. All the contestants are monitoring their steps using fitbits and health apps and the such like, collating the distance covered collectively and sending them into the race stewards weekly.  We will be watching the teams progress and attempting to raise money for our nominated office charity, the simply amazing MsF (click on the link below to check out their simply awesome work)
