Maximising Commercial Successes in Gasification by Enhancing Efficiency and Ensuring Compliance

Following the six successful ACI Gasification Summits in previous years, we are delighted to confirm the dates and the location of the next year’s event as 28th – 29th March 2018 in Frankfurt, Germany.

ACI’s 7th Annual Gasification Summit will comprise two days of formal presentations, interactive roundtable discussions and excellent networking opportunities, providing an ideal setting to convene with your peers to discuss both current operational & future planned gasification plants, end product markets, potential barriers & support policies as well as project economics & finance.

Some of the highlights at Gasification 2018 Summit Include:

  • Opening keynote presentation by Dr Geraint Evans, Programme Manager, Bioenergy, Energy Technologies Institute – ETI on Waste to Energy Gasification Outlook ETI’s Waste Gasification Demonstration Project
  • Esa Kurkela, Senior Principal Scientist, VTT & Tage Meltofte CEO of Skive District Heating Company will be presenting on Biomass Gasification for Heat & Power with a chance to join in with panel Q&A’s
  • Javier Gil, Director of The Biomass Energy Department of The National Renewable Energy Centre (CENER) will share the latest developments from the AMBITION (Advanced biofuel production with energy system integration) project.
  • Take part in a very insightful presentation by Robert Schouwenaar, Team Lead E&D Gasification & Hydrogen Manufacturing of Shell. He will be focusing on: Blending in of Bio-Fuels / Co-Feeding of Biomass
  • Alessandra Barba of GAYA R&D Project manager, Engie will Analyse the GAYA Project – Lessons Learnt for Future Developments

40 Leading International Gasification Experts to Visit Biomass to Liquid Pilot Plant at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT)

During the afternoon of 27th of March 2018 up to 40 conference attendees will receive a unique opportunity to visit The bioliq® Process.

The bioliq® pilot plant covers the complete process chain required for producing customized fuels from residual biomass. For energy densification of the biomass, fast pyrolysis is applied. The liquid pyrolysis oil and solid char obtained can be processed into intermediate fuels of high energy density. Fuel and chemicals production from syngas requires high pressures. Therefore, syngas production is already performed at pressures up to 80 bar by entrained flow gasification. Gas cleaning and conditioning are conducted at the same pressure at high temperatures allowing for optimal heat recovery and thus improved energy efficiency. In the bioliq® pilot plant the purified syngas is firstly converted into dimethyl ether and then further to gasoline.

There is no extra charge to attend the site visit, but spaces are limited and allocated on a first come first served basis. Please register your attendance for the site visit when booking for the conference.
