2nd National Microgrids Conference

Date: 10th September 2014 - 12th September 2014 Location: Chicago - Illinois - USA

ACI’s Second National Microgrids Conference

The microgrid market is predicted to more than double in the next five years, both in terms of installed capacity and annual value. But as grid edge technologies quickly expand, it’s a new wave of cleaner, more agile, and increasingly complex microgrids being developed, and they have the potential to dramatically change the United States power landscape.

Microgrids being deployed today are more flexible and advanced. Enabled by emerging technologies, value propositions are becoming viable that previously were infeasible or too expensive.  Where will new markets emerge over the next five years?  Which markets are going to explode? What challenges do they face? How much growth will there be with microgrid installations?

Power equipment companies now investing in pilot projects and currently available market opportunities will be well positioned for market leadership as the demand for microgrids increases over time. Attend this industry event to learn how microgrids provide a real opportunity to improve energy security throughout and to produce energy in a more environmentally friendly way, both by increasing the efficiency of our energy sources and increasing the implementation of renewables.

The second national three-day conference highlighting Next Generation Microgrids: powering the demand for microgrid technology and enabling new energy technologies to reach the marketplace and beyond. Featuring segments and panels by representatives from Schneider Electric, S&C Electric Company, Pareto, the Brookhaven National Laboratory, Reilly Associates, the Argonne National Laboratory, Microgrid Knowledge, TRC Solutions, Eaton, Siemens Industry Inc., Green Energy Corp, General Microgrids, M-WERC, (Mid-West Energy Research Consortium), Galvin Electricity Initiative/ Perfect Power Institute, Southwest Research Institute, Burns & McDonnell, Veriown Innovation Center LLC, Chicago Bridge and Iron and Distribution and Princeton Power Systems.

Global installed capacity of microgrid has seen a staggering growth since 2011 and is forecast to grow at a CAGR of over 17% from 2012- 2022 to attain a total installed capacity of over 15GW by 2022.

In terms of market value for the vendors the market presents a potential of over $5 billion and is likely to reach up-to $27 billion by 2022.
